Patients who have been diagnosed with cancer or an illness where they have to take medications that will affect their fertility will be seen urgently within 24-48 hrs of referral so that fertility preservation can be organised in a timely manner. Referrers please call the clinic directly to speak to Dr Maxwell.

Occasionally in prepubertal girls who have been diagnosed with cancer or in women in which chemotherapy has to start immediately, it will be recommended that ovarian tissue is frozen rather than eggs. In these cases, Elizabeth can organise a rapid referral to the Fertility Research Centre at the Royal Hospital for Women.
